Firefox's built-in support for web feeds and Live Bookmarks was removed with the release of Firefox version 64 in December 2018.
- On the iPad I've tried quite a few, both free and paid, and it was hard to beat Reeder. The developer responds to emails too. Unfortunately Reeder doesn't have an iPhone version, so on the phone I just use the (not brilliant) Feedly app.

PSA - Reeder 3 RSS app is free for iOS and macOS Excellent RSS reader for macOS and iOS is now free on both stores. Hopefully this means there are updates around the corner for both (it has been a while, and the Mac version is a little buggy on Mojave).
After reviewing the usage data and technical maintenance requirements for these features and taking into account alternative RSS/Atom feed readers already available to you, we have realized that these features have an outsized maintenance and security impact relative to their usage. Removing the feed reader and Live Bookmarks allows us to focus on features that make a greater impact.

Add-ons: There are several extensions for Firefox that provide feed reader functionality. You can browse our curated collection of readers here, or search for other feed readers on addons.mozilla.org.
Feed Aggregators: There are many dedicated clients for feed readers, many of which provide a better experience than Firefox. You can find more information about these clients on Wikipedia.
Firefox will tell you when support for Live Bookmarks has ended and will do the following:
- Automatically export all existing Live Bookmarks to an OPML file on your desktop named Firefox feeds backup.opml which you can import into another feed reader.
- Live Bookmarks will be turned into regular static bookmarks if Firefox can identify the URL. If the URL doesn't exist, the original Live Bookmark is removed.
Content discovery and styling
Mozilla is working on various initiatives that provide similar functionality to RSS/Atom feed support, like Pocket (for aiding content discovery and selection by users) and Reader Mode (for features like voice support and user-controlled styling of content).

Popular RSS client Reeder has today released the third major iteration of its app on iOS. The availability of Reeder 3 for iOS follows the release of Reeder 3 for OS X back in September alongside the launch of El Capitan. Reeder 3 introduces a handful of new features and capabilities, including support for new services, interface tweaks, and more.
First off, the update adds support for using Instapaper as a sync service. Instapaper joins services like Feedbin, Feedly, and Feed Wrangler as services supported by Reeder. The update also introduces a Safari View Controller, meaning that you no longer have to exit the Reeder app itself to view links. Instead, they will open directly within the app, making for a much more seamless experience.
Reeder 3 also adds support for Split View multitasking for iOS 9 users, as well as support for iPad Pro. 3D Touch support is also now supported for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users. You can now press harder on articles in the article list to preview them without actually tapping on them.
Various other interface tweaks have been made, as well. There are now font size options, unread and starred counts for smart folders, a new archive folder, font options for the article viewer, and more.
